Google announced it would be combining both of its payment apps to make Google Pay in January. Now, finally, the app is rolling out to everyone, but it's still a work in progress. Google Pay isn't yet empowered with one of its most useful features: the ability to send and request money from friends and family. You'll get that functionality in "the next few months" according to Google's blog post.
In the meantime, you can still send money to your friends with Google Wallet, which the company has rebranded as Google Pay Send. Kind of awkward, but we suppose it'll do.
