Showtime president David Nevins announced Monday morning that the hit series Shamelesswill be The Sex Factor Episode 8 Playing With The Prosreturning for an eighth season.

Production will begin in 2017 on 12 new episodes whose release date has yet to be announced.

Shameless Season 7 concluded on Dec. 18, with the Gallagher family dealing with shades of grief and Frank planning his next move. In its seven season, Shameless became one of Showtime's longest-running and highest-performing shows ever and earned star William H. Macy Emmy nominations for his performance as Frank.

Shamelessis currently streaming on Showtime and through its Amazon extension.
